About Beijing

Beijing is definitely a top tourist city, one of the most visited places in the world. There are hundreds of tourist spots and attractions that can be explored in Beijing, many of them full of history and culture.

Inspired from the famous book "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", by Roald Dahl, the world chocolate dream park will be a must-see attraction on your list of sights in Beijing. The park is located in Olympic Green, together with the Bird's Nest stadium and the Water Cube Aquatics Centre which housed the Olympic Games in 2008. The wonderful life-size Terracotta Army Warriors, a replica of the Great Wall and many other sweet objects such as famous paintings, are all made of chocolate and can be found in the chocolate park in Beijing, from January 2010.

After having fun in the park, you can visit The Forbidden City which is also known as the Imperial Palace Museum. It was the seat of the Imperial power for 500 years and was built between 1406 and 1420. The place includes over 9,000 rooms, from which only a part can be visited by tourists, but it is a wonderful sight to see and a great opportunity to have a long walk, so make sure you wear some very comfortable shoes.

The biggest square in the world is located also in Beijing, China, and it is called the Tiananmen Square. It represents the symbol of the city and it consists of several gates and towers which make the place unique and worth visiting. Close to the square, there is the Great Hall of the People, in the west side, and it lays over 7,000 square meters. In the opposite side, on the east of the square,The National Museum of Chinais located.

A last, but extremely important and interesting experience that you must not miss, is Beijing Great Wall. It is one of the world's seven wonders and the only man-made construction that can be seen from the space. The length of the wall is quite an impressive one, around 600 kilometres, and there are eight major sections that make the wall: Badaling, Juyongguan, Huanghuacheng, Jiankou, Mutianyu, Gubeikou, Jinshanling, and Simatai. Each of these eight sections has its own unique and specific features and they are a symbol of the city, of the country and even of the world.
